The objective of our internship is to give you a real opportunity to work with experienced professionals in this field to provide cutting edge Chinese language teaching & learning materials, tools, digital products and solutions to all Chinese language programs in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Providing high-quality digital education services to Chinese language educators and learners is the current strategic priority of iChineseEdu. CLERC is currently developing and providing innovative web and mobile based digital products and services to facilitate K-12 Chinese language programs. We are searching for passionate college students and young professionals to join our endeavor to make both teaching and learning of the Chinese language more effective and a happy experience.

As part of our team, working directly with outstanding and inspiring experienced professionals, you will be exposed to our day to day running, and participate into our dynamic brainstorm meetings. According to your school major and career interest, you will take specific responsibilities in your team. We believe your internship experience with us will truly help you explore this field, gain work skills, and grow your career potentials.

Who can apply for our internship?

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s program in U.S. colleges/universities
• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or above program in U.S. colleges/universities
• Within one year after graduation from your Bachelor or Master degree
• Other young professionals

Additional Info

Duration: The internship lasts for at least two months and can be as long as six months. Once selected, you and your joined team can decide the exact duration prior to internship starts.

Cost: All our intern positions at CLERC are paid full/part time internship. However, all costs related to travel, insurance, etc. will be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.

Credit: You may get academic credit from your school/college/university for the internship. Please check with your institution to confirm credit policy and availability.

Confidentiality: You must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information and business plan & strategies obtained during the course of the internship.

Work/Intern Permit: You must be authorized to work/intern lawfully in the United States and work permit and/or official documents are required.

Content & Editorial Intern (2 openings)
Responsibilities:
  • Performing editorial support and quality assurance tasks for iChineseReader
  • Participate in iChineseReader content development and production
  • Coordinate with partners including authors, publishers, and other contractors to assure program quality and meet deadlines
  • Other assignments assigned by the program manager

Qualifications:

  • Native in Mandarin Chinese and Simplified Chinese characters
  • Good English/Chinese writing skills
  • Great attention to details
  • Major in education, teaching Chinese as a second language, linguistics, communications, education technology preferred
  • The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of traditional Chinese characters a plus
  • Chinese language teaching experiences a plus

Marketing & Sale Intern (1 opening)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist Sales Representatives in providing Chinese language digital and print solutions to students, parents, and educators
  • Enjoy talking to students, parents, and educators, and helping them resolve any frustrations they may be facing
  • Work with Sales Representatives to identify prospective customers using established lead methods
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current and potential customers
  • Ensure our CRM is kept up-to-date and accurate with sales information
  • Assist other teams as needed

IT Technician Intern (1 opening)
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and set up office electronic equipment
  • Manage AWS servers and develop/update WordPress websites when necessary
  • Occasionally help production team to do publication layout

Qualifications:

  • Motivated, Self-starter
  • Can meet deadlines for assigned jobs
  • Major in computer science, information technology or computer information systems
  • Understanding how to set up basic office equipment
  • Fluent in HTML5 and CSS3
  • Ability to read Simplified Chinese characters
  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English
  • Knowledge of one or more kind of programming languages (preferably PHP and/or JavaScript) a big plus
  • Knowledge of one or more kind of JS framework/library a big plus
  • Experience on managing *nix system from CLI will be a plus
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools – PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc. will be a plus
  • Experience on WordPress will be a plus
